Alto Saxhorn in Eb by Emil Wulschner, Indianapolis
Rough Condition, Built circa 1879

Greetings! I offer this Eb upright alto saxhorn marked "EMIL WULSCHNER / INDIANAPOLIS". This was probably imported by Wulschner early in his tenure as a music shop owner. It has Berliner-pumpen piston valves, typical of instruments of the Civil War era, and would be period correct for use in a re-enactment band. Brass overall with heavy surface oxidation.
CONDITION:
Somewhat rough condition. There are a number of dents. The bell bow was detached on one side and had a poor repair. The mouthpipe is detached. All the slides are stuck. The waterkey cup is broken off the lever and lost, but would be a fairly easy repair for a competent tech.
I would assume the valves are leaky and would require heavy oil.
It will require a professional restoration to by playable, and is priced accordingly. The instrument is sold AS-IS with no warranties. See pictures. WYSIWYG.
